Role Description

The Service Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position covering West and East Midlands. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Visiting client sites to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, and fire safety systems.
  • Responding to service calls, assessing technical issues, carrying out troubleshooting, and providing technical support to ensure systems function reliably and safely.
  • Completing service reports, communicating clearly with clients about findings and recommended actions, and coordinating with the internal team to schedule follow-up work and parts.

The Service Engineer is expected to adhere to safety standards, comply with industry regulations, and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills, particularly in CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, and fire systems.
  • Field service experience, including on-site diagnostics, system commissioning, and client-facing service work.
  • Proficiency in maintenance and repair of electronic security and fire safety equipment, with attention to safety and compliance.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, documenting service activities, and collaborating with team members.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeship in electrical, electronic, or security systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with applicable standards and regulations for fire and security systems (e.g., BS/EN standards) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and travel locally to client sites as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record preferred.
  • Previous experience in the fire and security industry is required.
