We’re looking for a Service Engineer to join our team to work full time, including weekends across the UK & Ireland with some travel further afield.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection of VULKAN couplings, mounts and other products on board vessels, carrying out detailed condition assessments and ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Installation of VULKAN products at customer sites and on board vessels.
- Supporting customers through technical issues, diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues and delivering effective solutions.
- Understanding customer needs and concerns by building strong relationships, actively listening to requirements and offering recommendations.
- Providing a high level of customer service, representing VULKAN professionally at all times.
- Preparing and submitting service reports following every visit, fully documenting all work completed.
- Carry out quality control inspections and testing on systems and equipment, identifying potential issues before they develop into failures and installing VULKAN flexible elements, couplings, mounts, and spare parts as required.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, contractors, and customers, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, and occasionally internationally, responding to customer requirements and providing on-site support, inspections, and commissioning services as needed.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and quality standards, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and relevant industry regulations.

Essential Skills and Experience
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- You have good time management and organisational abilities.
- You can work independently and as part of a team.
- You have a professional and calm approach when working under pressure.
- You have successfully completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic, marine mechanic, mechatronics technician or a comparable qualification.
- You have relevant professional experience in assembly, installation or field service.
- You have a customer and service-oriented approach to work.
- You have sufficient English language skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- You are flexible and interested in a varied role in which you will have multi-day service assignments worldwide, typically lasting between 3 and 10 days.
- You have experience working with marine electric propulsion systems.
- You hold a full UK driving licence.

This is a full-time position with salary dependent on experience
