About This Role
Are you a Generator Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or Diesel Engineer looking for a new challenge within the energy and asset rental sector? This Generator Engineer role with Dawsongroup Energy Solutions covers the Midlands region, offering the chance to work on a wide range of diesel generator equipment while building long-term relationships with customers and supporting critical power solutions.
- Servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing diesel generators and associated hire equipment across customer sites throughout the Midlands
- Preparing machinery for hire, supporting hire operations and ensuring all equipment is maintained to a high standard
- Delivering excellent customer service while providing technical advice and support to customers and colleagues
- Completing accurate administration including service reports, parts usage and time recording
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company and legal compliance standards
About You
You might already be an experienced Generator Engineer, Mobile Service Engineer, or Diesel Technician, or you may come from a transferable engineering background with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently and taking pride in delivering a first-class service to customers.

- Full UK driving licence is essential
- Proven experience with diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, electrics, and braking systems
- Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent is desirable
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience across mechanical and electrical systems
- Comfortable working independently in the field while managing your own workload effectively
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset and strong attention to detail
