Are you an experienced Service Engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background?

This is a varied field-based role involving the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of industrial equipment at customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas.

You will become a technical expert in the company's machinery, providing high-quality service and technical support while always representing the business professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission and configure machinery at customer sites.
  • Carry out site acceptance testing and ensure equipment is fully operational.
  • Provide customer demonstrations and operational training where required.
  • Complete installation and commissioning documentation.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control system faults.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and minimize customer downtime.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support.
  • Investigate recurring faults and recommend long-term solutions.
  • Complete service reports, timesheets, expenses, RAMS and other required documentation.
  • Record parts used, labour hours, expenses and equipment condition.
  • Maintain vehicles, tools, test equipment and spare parts.
  • Follow all company H&S procedures, customer site rules and relevant legislation.

About You

  • Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial or commercial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • A sound understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A flexible approach to overnight stays and worldwide travel.
  • A full UK driving license and valid passport.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience with PLCs, control systems or automation.
  • Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition or City & Guilds.
