SERVICE ENGINEER

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business near Exeter.

Working as part of the Engineering team, you will need to be a self-starter with practical experience in a service, engineering, maintenance, or plant environment. You will be expected to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers and demonstrate a friendly, approachable, and positive attitude.

Scope

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this is a multi-skilled position encompassing both field-based service work and workshop-based repairs and maintenance.

The role will involve traveling throughout the South West, with occasional work further afield. You will carry out repairs, servicing, maintenance, installation, and fault-finding activities both at customer sites and within the workshop.

Previous hands-on experience with hydraulic systems is essential. The successful candidate will have a strong practical understanding of hydraulic equipment and systems and be confident undertaking maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and servicing.

The role will also involve working with pneumatic equipment and systems, including routine servicing, installation, and commissioning. You will work closely with colleagues across the Engineering and Technical teams to provide effective support and ensure requirements are delivered efficiently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
