HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Fire & Security sectors. We have a number of permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas.

Working as the Service Engineer you will join our busy workshop and field team. This person will work primarily in-house with occasional site/field work across the UK and overseas. Your day to day will see you being involved in the repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of driveline equipment, including transmissions, torque converters, axles, and associated products. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your mechanical experience within specialist driveline applications, backed by strong brands, training, and an international group.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Service Engineer:

  • Strip mechanical equipment, examine the components, diagnose and failures or faults, and repair the customer equipment in the workshop.
  • Carry out repairs of the mechanical equipment, maintenance, and servicing at the customers premises (UK or Overseas).
  • Work on a wide range of boat/ship and off-highway driveline systems and components.
  • Adhere to all company working practices, safety standards, and reporting procedures.
  • Complete all required job reports / documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements for the Service Engineer:

  • A recognised qualification or proven industry experience in mechanical engineering is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive engineering knowledge and strong awareness of safety requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of general engineering equipment, service, and repair.
  • Competent in using measuring equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems beneficial.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Ability to use computer programs for works management and report writing.
  • Passport.
