Job Description: Service Engineer
OFS Global Energy Solutions is a leading provider of integrated energy and engineering services, delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable solutions across the power and oil & gas sectors. Due to strong growth, we are currently recruiting for Service Engineers who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of power generation systems, on a project in Newport, South Wales.
Responsibilities
The watchkeeping team as a whole is accountable for the following:
- Continuous monitoring of the UPS installation, the standby generators, the transformer and the associated systems.
- Attendance at and response to alarms, faults and operational events, at any hour.
- Routine inspections and condition reporting on all equipment in scope.
- Coordination with the client and other project stakeholders as required.
- Maintenance of site records and shift handover documentation.
- Escalation and reporting of critical issues in accordance with the agreed site procedures.
- Working safely under the site permit-to-work, lockout/tagout and isolation regimes at all times, and stopping work where it is not safe to continue.

Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Power Generation or similar).
- Previous experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, or commissioning power generation equipment such as diesel generators, gas engines, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, or temporary power generation assets.
- Practical knowledge of Balance of Plant (BoP) equipment including switchgear, transformers, fuel systems, cooling systems, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary plant equipment.
- Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems and interpreting technical manuals, drawings, schematics, P&ID's, SLD's, and OEM documentation.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work.
- Familiarity with control systems, SCADA, PLCs, or plant monitoring systems would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a rotating shift team in a fast-paced operational environment.
