Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Field-based, South East UK (including London)
We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Engineer to contribute to our ACT and SWP service team across the South East, with the ideal candidate based within or around London.
Getinge is a well-respected Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), saving lives through the manufacture and maintenance of a range of medical devices and solutions. Our Service Team is at the forefront of our business, responsible for the routine servicing, testing, and repairing of our equipment in hospitals and healthcare facilities across the UK and Ireland.
You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by leveraging your technical expertise to ensure the smooth operation of our machines in the field, while building relationships with customers and colleagues to deliver the highest standard of service.
This is a field-based role, requiring you to be a self-starter with experience in managing your own workload. Though you will primarily work independently, you will receive ongoing support from the Service Office, Service Managers, and our Technical Services Department, which has direct access to Getinge manufacturing sites and a vast pool of technical expertise.
The successful candidate will have a background or relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering. Comprehensive training on Getinge’s equipment will be provided by our dedicated in-house training team. Through our Career Progression Pathway, all Engineers undergo bi-annual skill assessments based on a unique competency-based banding framework, ensuring your ongoing development advances with you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
