About This Role

Are you a Generator Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or Diesel Engineer looking for a new challenge within the energy and asset rental sector? This field-based Generator Engineer role with Dawsongroup Energy Solutions is based from our Milton Keynes office with nationwide travel (predominantly in the surrounding areas of Milton Keynes), offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of diesel generator equipment while supporting customers across the UK.

  • Servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing diesel generators and associated hire equipment across customer sites nationwide
  • Preparing machinery for hire, supporting hire operations and ensuring all equipment is maintained to a high standard
  • Delivering excellent customer service while providing technical advice and support to customers and colleagues
  • Completing accurate administration including service reports, parts usage and time recording
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company and legal compliance standards

About You

You might already be an experienced Generator Engineer, Mobile Service Engineer, Plant Engineer or Diesel Technician, or you may come from a transferable engineering background with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. This role would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, travelling to customer sites and delivering a reliable service that customers can depend on.

  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • Proven experience with diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, electrics, and braking systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Comfortable managing workloads independently while travelling nationwide
  • Confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset and strong attention to detail
