The Service Engineer ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of PALFINGER MARINE equipment by preparing and performing service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on lifeboats, davits, winches, and cranes. The role provides technical support to customers onboard vessels and at offshore installations, while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with company standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare service assignments by reviewing previous reports and manuals, verifying spare-parts availability, and confirming that all requirements are met
  • Assess technical conditions and perform service, maintenance, and repairs on lifeboats, davits, winches, and cranes onboard vessels and offshore installations
  • Carry out general mechanical work and service load-sensing and proportional hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control-engineering issues to support safe and reliable equipment operation
  • Report completed activities and technical findings to the service coordinator, service manager, and client, and complete the related administrative settlement

Your Qualifications

  • Secondary technical education at MBO level or equivalent, preferably in mechanical engineering
  • Several years of relevant technical work experience, with a broad background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control engineering
  • Knowledge of PLCs, frequency controllers, and proportional controllers, including Volkel M42 / HCX systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in the maritime or offshore industry is preferred; good communication skills and English or Dutch language ability are advantageous
