HPLC Field Service Engineer
£50,000 - £60,000 + 33 Days, Training, Progression etc.
Field-based, covering Midlands / some UK travel
Are you a Service Engineer with hands-on experience servicing HPLC, LC or UHPLC systems, looking to work for a well established and fast growing business, in the Life Sciences industry?
This is a great opportunity to join a growing specialist provider of analytical instrumentation, where you'll be the technical expert on LC / HPLC equipment, supporting customers across pharmaceutical, scientific and laboratory environments.
You’ll become part of a close-knit technical service team with a strong reputation for employee support, training and long-term development.
You’ll work autonomously across the Midlands and North of England, servicing a varied range of chromatography and analytical equipment. There will be wider UK travel, overnight stays and occasional European travel where required.

What you’ll be doing
- Service, maintain, fault-find and repair HPLC, LC and UHPLC systems
- Install, commission and calibrate analytical laboratory equipment
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns
- Support a broad range of chromatography equipment, including GC, LC-MS and GC-MS
- Work with spectroscopy equipment, laboratory gas generators and associated analytical technologies
- Provide technical support and equipment training to customers
- Manage your own regional field-service workload
- Produce clear service reports and technical documentation
What we’re looking for
- Proven hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding HPLC, LC or UHPLC equipment
- Background as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Analytical Instrumentation Engineer
- Experience with equipment from Waters, Agilent, Shimadzu, Thermo Fisher, PerkinElmer or similar would be highly beneficial
- Exposure to GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, spectroscopy or laboratory gas generators is advantageous
- Comfortable working independently in a customer-facing, field-based position
- Full UK driving licence
