Job title: Service Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Start date: ASAP

Salary Range: Depending on experience

Benefits Package: Package available

Location: Heysham, Lancashire

Full Site Based/Hybrid/Remote Working: Fully site based

Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week


Role information:

  • The ideal candidate will be involved in the preparation and carrying out of servicing, maintenance, testing and fault diagnosis of VFC systems in accordance with customer requirements and applicable procedures.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • 3–5-year experience as a service technician/engineer, within power electronics, UPS, VFC, or similar technical field.
  • HND / HNC or equivalent in Electronic Engineering.
  • Confident individual who must be able to communicate to customers and staff of all seniority.
  • Astute problem solver with an organised approach to tasks, and good time management skills.
  • Service minded and proactive thinking.
  • Time and cost target focused General Skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills are required - the ability to identify, research and resolve issues is important.
  • Experience of Health and Safety and Quality Systems.
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance on all systems and equipment delivered.
  • Carry out live working procedures.
  • Complete service reports, other current forms, and obligations according to applicable procedure.
  • Provide 24/7 technical support and emergency service on rotation basis.
  • Answer the technical support phone/mailbox during assigned schedule, responds to customers issues over the phone and troubleshoots and/or research technical issues through to resolution. Escalates critical issues or technical issues according to applicable procedures when unable to resolve.
  • Provide on-site technical support on VFC equipment.
