We are looking for a Service Engineer to work with advanced mobility and rehabilitation equipment used by adults and children with complex physical needs.
You will service, repair and adapt specialist equipment both in the workshop and at customer locations. This varied, hands-on role combines mechanical and electrical engineering, fault-finding and direct customer support.
If you have worked in automotive engineering, medical equipment, electronics, field service, powered access, plant machinery or another electro-mechanical environment, your skills may transfer well.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair powered and manual equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Complete safety checks and pre-delivery inspections.
- Programme and test electronic control systems.
- Replace components such as batteries, tyres, actuators and controls.
- Make adjustments and modifications to meet individual customer needs.
- Visit customers in their homes, schools, workplaces and clinical settings.
- Explain technical work clearly to customers, families and healthcare professionals.
- Complete service reports and manage your appointments.
- Help develop practical solutions when standard equipment is not suitable.
- Attend specialist product training, including occasional overseas training.

Required Skillset
- Hands-on experience servicing, repairing or maintaining electromechanical equipment and be confident using diagnostic tools to identify faults.
- A practical, methodical and logical approach to problem solving
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload in the field
- Strong organisation, time management and journey-planning skills
- The ability to prioritise workloads and adapt plans when urgent breakdowns or changing customer requirements arise
- A patient, empathetic and professional approach when working in customers’ homes, including with elderly or vulnerable individuals and their families
- Good Microsoft Office skills and confidence using digital service-management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
- A self-sufficient approach, while also being a supportive and collaborative team player
