About the Role
As a Service Engineer with Rendesco, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintaining, and repairing of heat pump systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This hands-on role will involve diagnosing faults, optimising system performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
You will be at the heart of maintaining the high standards of service that Rendesco is known for, directly contributing to the reliability and efficiency of our cutting-edge, low-carbon heating systems.
Requirements
- Experience with Ground Source and Air Source Heat Pumps—installing, servicing, or commissioning systems.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting experience with heating systems.
- Understanding of heating systems, associated pumps/valves, and safety requirements.
- A basic understanding of PLC control systems.
- Electrical fault finding to board/component level would be advantageous.

Personal Attributes
- Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills—vital for liaising with customers.
- A good Team Player who is comfortable with lone working, as this role involves travelling to customer sites.
- A proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach.
Education
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Heating, or Refrigeration (Essential)
- G3 qualification unvented (essential)
- FGAS (Desirable but not essential)
Location
- Ideal location for this role would be London, Reading, Hampshire or surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Conduct routine servicing, fault finding, repairs, and preventive maintenance of industrial, commercial, and domestic ground and air-source heat pumps.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in heat pump systems.
- Replace defective components and test system functionality.
Customer Support & Reporting
- Provide technical advice and support to customers, ensuring their systems operate smoothly.
- Complete service reports and maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Educate customers on system operation and energy efficiency.
