Our client is a well-established specialist contractor operating within the fire protection and sprinkler systems sector. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality installation, service, and maintenance solutions, the company continues to grow its client base across commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued expansion, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sprinkler Service & Maintenance Supervisor to join the business, based in Belfast and lead its service and maintenance operations.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Sprinkler Service & Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing service and maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards while delivering exceptional customer service and operational performance. This role offers a mix of technical leadership, people management, client relationship management, commercial oversight, and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee a small team of engineers, coordinate maintenance activities, manage resources, and support the continued growth of the maintenance division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of sprinkler service and maintenance contracts across a diverse client portfolio.
  • Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) inspections are completed in accordance with BS EN 12845 and BS9251:2021.
  • Supervise and support a small team of service and maintenance engineers.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field-based teams.
  • Coordinate labour, resources, and materials to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Procure materials and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Attend client meetings and provide contract progress updates.
  • Prepare quotations for new maintenance contracts and additional works.
  • Monitor project expenditure and support finance teams with invoicing requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure works are delivered effectively.
  • Support internal design and project teams with technical queries.
  • Maintain accurate records including RAMS, quality documentation, maintenance reports, and service schedules.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have a strong background within sprinkler systems maintenance and service delivery, coupled with experience managing engineers, subcontractors, and client relationships.

Essential Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of BS EN 12845 and BS9251:2021.
  • Experience within the sprinkler, fire protection, or specialist M&E service sector.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Proven experience managing site-based labour and resources.
  • Strong understanding of project documentation, including RAMS and quality procedures.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance contracts and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • LPCB Testing & Commissioning Module 2 Competent.
  • LPCB Site Inspection Module 1 Competent.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS Gold Card.
  • Experience producing quotations and identifying business development opportunities.
