Trimbio Ltd is a trusted provider of medical equipment. We service, repair, and recondition devices alongside supplying new equipment.
We pride ourselves on offering a quick, efficient, and exceptionally high standard of customer care to the healthcare sector. We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Service Manager to lead our service team, maintain our technical excellence, and drive commercial growth.
Role Overview
As the Service Manager, you will occupy a vital hybrid role within the business. You will spend up to 2 days a week in the field performing hands-on repairs, servicing, and offering direct technical support to our engineering team. The remaining time will be based at our Horsham office, focusing on managing a team of 4 direct reports, overseeing workshop and field inventory, supporting product development and production, ensuring regulatory compliance, and proactively driving new business to expand the service department.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations (4 Direct Reports)
- Manage and mentor a team of 4 engineers: 2 field-based and 2 workshop-based.
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical faults, providing hands-on assistance.
- Support production and product development activities.

Hands-On Field Service & Technical Support (Approx. 2 Days per Week)
- Travel to client sites to carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Deliver specialist maintenance across a diverse range of medical equipment, including:
- Medical couches
- Rehabilitation devices (e.g., Ultrasound, Laser, Shockwave)
- Pre-hospital care devices (e.g., AEDs, Vital Sign Monitors)
- Support, coach, and quality-assure the work of field engineers while on-site.
Departmental Growth & Business Development
- Drive the service department forward by identifying and bringing in new service contracts and repair work.
- Build partnerships with new healthcare providers and upsell service/calibration packages to existing clients.
Asset, Stock & Calibration Management
- Oversee the organisation, safety, and efficiency of the Horsham workshop.
- Manage vehicle stock and workshop inventory.
- Maintain control over company tools and specialised test equipment, ensuring all equipment is meticulously tracked and calibrated on schedule.

- Handle customer inquiries daily via phone and email, ensuring a fast and highly efficient resolution to their needs.
- Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal processes.
- Ensure all operations strictly align with current medical industry regulations and quality frameworks.
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven Background in Field Service: Essential experience working out in the field as an engineer.
- Medical Device Repair (Highly Desired): Direct experience servicing, repairing, and calibrating medical, rehabilitation, or pre-hospital care equipment.
- Leadership Experience: Prior experience managing direct reports, including both field and workshop staff.
- Commercial Mindset: Comfortable speaking with clients to generate new business, secure contracts, and build long-term relationships.
- Compliance Mindset: Strong understanding of working within regulated environments, updating SOPs, and managing equipment calibration cycles.
- Location & Licence: Must be based within a commutable distance of Horsham, West Sussex, and hold a clean, full UK driving licence.
