Glenrands Jaguar & Land Rover is an authorized Jaguar Land Rover service center focused on providing a higher standard of client care, technical expertise, and ownership experience for Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover drivers. Founded in 2020 during the second COVID-19 lockdown, Glenrands was created to challenge the traditional dealership model with a more personal, transparent, and service-driven approach. The center is based in Portsmouth and supports clients across Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, West Sussex, and Greater London. Glenrands combines manufacturer-level technical capabilities with independent-level attention to detail to deliver a premium service experience. Team members join a growing, client-focused business that values professionalism, integrity, and long-term relationships.
Role Description
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs and delivering a consistent, premium client experience. This full-time, on-site role is based in Portsmouth and involves leading and coaching the service team, managing workshop schedules, and coordinating with technicians to meet productivity and quality standards. The person in this role will handle client communication, including service consultations, approvals, updates, and post-service follow-ups, while addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications
- Strong service operations and workshop management skills, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality control.
- Client service and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, explain technical work clearly, and manage expectations professionally.
- Team leadership and people management capabilities, including coaching, performance oversight, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Technical understanding of vehicle service and repair, ideally with experience in premium or specialist automotive brands.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a structured approach to resolving client issues and operational challenges.
- Comfort with service management systems, documentation, and basic reporting for performance tracking and compliance.
- Previous experience as a Service Manager, Service Advisor, or similar role in an automotive environment is highly beneficial.
- Relevant vocational or technical qualifications in automotive or mechanical fields are an advantage; manufacturer training or Jaguar Land Rover experience is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Portsmouth and maintain a professional, client-focused manner under time pressures.
