The role
PE Global Care Connect are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and hands-on Area Service & Positive Behaviour Support Manager to lead the safe, effective, and person-centred delivery of a specialist support. This is a full-time permanent role offering a hybrid model based in Cumbria
Duties of the role
- You will manage a dedicated team supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and behaviours of concern.
- Operating within high CQC compliance standards, you will focus on reducing restrictions, implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies, and improving the quality of life and independence of those in your care.
- Lead, coach, and nurture a small, consistent team of support workers and coordinators.
- Deliver in-house induction training, PBS coaching, staff supervision, and reflective practice debriefings.
- Plan and manage the staff rota, maintain appropriate staffing levels, handle short-notice vacancies, and participate in on-call arrangements.
- Collate timesheets, manage finances (e.g., client petty cash), and oversee weekly health, safety, and fire checks.
- Provide hands-on care alongside your team, supporting clients with daily routines and encouraging maximum independence.
- Shift flexibility to cover floor gaps as an operational contingency when required.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of individuals with complex needs, living either independently in the community, with family, or within specialised environments.
- PBS Implementation: Complete PBS assessments and ensure behaviour support plans and restrictive intervention strategies are implemented consistently.
- Write, review, and update comprehensive care plans, risk assessments, and equipment checks in collaboration with the wider management team.
- Act with a strong knowledge of safeguarding protocols, potentially acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Partner with therapists, consultants, local authorities, education teams, and allied health professionals; coordinate and attend medical appointments.
- Oversee medication stock checks, prescription requests, and the servicing/maintenance of specialized care equipment.
- Maintain exceptional standards of clinical governance and professional practice in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) "Outstanding" expectations and best practice guidelines.
- Safeguarding Leadership: Maintain demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding protocols, protect learners and citizens from harm, and act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Education & Experience required:

- Relevant formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Psychology, Health & Social Care
- Level 5 in Health and Social management or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience as a Care Manager, Service Manager, Senior Practitioner, or Team Leader supporting individuals who display challenging behaviours (Essential).
- Strong background in learning disabilities, autism, mental health services, and the practical application of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks. (Essential).
- Exceptional administrative, organisational, and computer skills, with high accuracy in digital record-keeping and data trend analysis.
- A calm, confident, and reflective leader who is comfortable making critical decisions under pressure.
