Are you an experienced and dedicated professional looking to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in West Berkshire? We are seeking a Service Manager to join our Children's Single Point of Access service (CSPA). The post holder will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for the development, implementation and delivery of the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) within West Berkshires Children’s Single Point of Access (CSPA), aligned to the Families First Partnership reforms.

About The Role

As a Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in the effective operation and management of the Children and Family Services. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Service Lead in the overall management and leadership of the service
  • Leading the design and embedding of a high-quality, partnership-based child protection model
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safeguarding services to children and families
  • Driving system reform and strengthening multi-agency working
  • Managing a team of dedicated professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service
  • Collaborating with internal and external agencies to promote the best interests of children and families
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of service changes and developments
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and statutory requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Significant experience working within children’s services, with a strong understanding of the challenges and issues faced by children and families
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with the workforce at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and capacity to manage multiple demands and deliver within deadlines
  • Significant knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and statutory requirements
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality services

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 30 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
