InkTec Europe | Witney, Oxfordshire | Full-Time

InkTec are a leading manufacturer of JETRIX UV flatbed printers, inkjet ink and media for the print sector. Based in Witney, West Oxfordshire, we are looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead our hardware engineering and customer service team, ensuring our customers receive outstanding support and our products keep performing at their best.

This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of the business — you'll manage a team of engineers, build strong relationships with customers and European distributors, and make sure every installation, service visit and support call is delivered to a high standard.

What You'll Be Doing

Service & Installations (UK)

  • Plan, direct and line-manage the engineering team
  • Plan and direct new hardware installations, service visits and maintenance schedules
  • Manage warranty and service contract renewals and policy updates
  • Build strong relationships with customers to ensure confidence in our service and products
  • Communicate effectively with HQ for all hardware requirements
  • Maintain and develop our service software, keeping product and customer information updated
  • Responsible for managing spare parts inline with customer demand, stock and cost levels
  • Manage service reports and billing, and oversee external engineer contracts and invoicing
  • Manage hardware stock movement including imports, exports and all logistical operations
  • Work closely with Sales Managers to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Take ownership of Health and Safety compliance within the department’s operations

Europe

  • Build and maintain relationships with our European distributor network
  • Manage service visits, training and warranty arrangements under distributor agreements
  • Travel into Europe as required, ensuring everything is in place ahead of visits

Team & People Management

  • Motivate the team to deliver excellent customer service, productivity and time management
  • Evaluate performance, support development, and manage recruitment and training
  • Manage holidays, sickness, and set and monitor measurable performance targets
  • Manage fleet requirements, servicing and vehicle safety

Reporting & Business Development

  • Track efficiency and costs across external engineering work
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual service statistics
  • Work with Marketing and Sales to identify and promote service-led opportunities
  • Represent InkTec at exhibitions and customer visits, promoting our Jetrix products and services
  • Contribute to operational improvements to increase productivity and maximise cost efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • University degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
  • Proven experience managing an engineering, service or field-based team
  • Printer industry experience preferred, but candidates from other industries are also welcome
  • A strong relationship-builder, confident working with customers, distributors and colleagues
  • Well organised, comfortable with reporting, budgets and performance data
  • Willing and able to travel within the UK and into Europe as required
  • A proactive, hands-on manager who leads from the front
