Service Manager - BMW MINI Motorrad Canterbury
About The Role
Are you looking for a career-defining role and to be part of something exciting? We are seeking an ambitious and talented Service Manager to lead our premium BMW, MINI, and Motorrad Service team.
Reporting directly to the Group Service Director, you will manage a busy, professional department. You will be responsible for Service Advisors, Technicians, and Warranty Administrators. In this role, you will act as a role model for customer service excellence, developing long-lasting relationships with our customers while coaching and motivating your team to do the same. Your remit covers all aspects of the department, ensuring a consistently high level of performance across the workshop, maximising productivity, and driving the team to achieve upselling targets, budgets, and KPIs.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience as an Aftersales Manager or Service Manager within a similar premium automotive environment.
- A proven track record in transactional aftersales management and delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing, motivating, and getting the best out of a diverse team.
- Commercial acumen with experience monitoring budgets, KPIs, and implementing performance improvement plans.
- A full UK driving licence is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance, training, and appraisals to the service, warranty, and workshop teams to encourage a forward-thinking attitude and help them achieve their full potential.
- Customer Excellence: Manage and own our Customer Satisfaction scores, maximising customer loyalty by treating everyone as an individual and delivering an exceptional, premium service experience.
- Financial Management: Monitor department performance against budget, identify any shortfalls, and implement proactive action plans to improve financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Continued
- Business Growth: Proactively drive departmental revenue through labour sales, the promotion of service plans, extended warranties, and targeted aftermarket campaigns.
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee daily workshop operations, managing technicians to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Market Analysis: Analyse local market statistics to identify new business and revenue opportunities within the territory.
- Customer Retention: Develop and execute robust retention strategies to re-engage lapsed customers and secure long-term loyalty to the Canterbury site.
- Reporting: Organise departmental forecasts and performance reports in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:00–17:30 with a one-hour lunch break.
