We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering business for an experienced Service Operations Manager to join its Rail & Marine division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate service, maintenance, repair, overhaul and commissioning activities.
  • Manage and develop a team of service engineers and technicians.
  • Plan resources, schedules and service activities to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage costs, profitability, spare parts and technical resources.
  • Maintain high HSE, quality and compliance standards.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and provide technical support.
  • Resolve complex service issues and identify opportunities for renewals, upgrades and additional services.
  • Monitor KPIs and prepare management reports.
  • Support UK and international service operations and customer visits.

Requirements

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years' relevant technical/service experience.
  • Proven experience managing technical/service teams.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical drive systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and customer management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ideally experience in service sales.
  • Rail, Marine or heavy engineering experience highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
