Your role
As a Service Planner, you are responsible for scheduling the day-to-day workload of our field service engineers, ensuring that all service requirements are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
You Will
- Manage and optimize the use of planning and scheduling systems (currently Click, transitioning to SAP).
- Schedule and coordinate Field Service Engineers' activities to maximize productivity, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all service orders are correctly planned, allocated, and released to engineers ahead of scheduled site visits.
- Liaise with customers by phone and email to arrange, confirm, and communicate service visits and work scopes.
- Monitor customer orders and service activities to ensure timely completion and effective planning of follow-up or additional work.
- Work closely with Service, Sales, and Operations teams to respond to customer requirements and deliver operational excellence.
- Maintain accurate customer and service records by collecting and updating information provided by Field Service Engineers.
- Support the promotion and growth of service contract offerings through proactive customer engagement and opportunity identification.
- Manage scheduling changes, service escalations, and priority requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing planning efficiency, service delivery, and customer experience.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

To succeed, you will need
The Following Requirements Are Essential
- Experience of working in business administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload.
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- SAP knowledge and experience desirable.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English.
The Following Requirements Are Desirable
- Experience working with a sales-led organisation.
- Knowledge of the compressed air industry.
- Basic product knowledge, with a particular relevance on Atlas Copco group air compressors.
- Aspirational to progress and grow within the organisation.
- Experience of working with SAP, however training will be provided.
- Experience of working within a service environment.

Job location
This role will be based at our office in Thirsk.
