About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing NOV Downhole drilling, fishing, and intervention tools to the highest quality standards. Working within a modern workshop environment, you will perform assembly, disassembly, inspection, testing, and maintenance activities while following NOV service procedures, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
This position has been created to support continued business growth and increased service demand across the European region. As the UK workshop continues to expand its role as a regional service hub, you will contribute directly to operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and equipment reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Service, assemble, disassemble, and test Downhole drilling, fishing, and intervention tools in accordance with NOV service procedures.
- Perform inspections and accurately assess component condition using measuring equipment and established quality standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation within NOV systems.
- Operate workshop equipment safely while complying with all HSE policies, Job Safety Analyses, and Risk Assessments.
- Support workshop housekeeping, preventive maintenance activities, and 5S initiatives to maintain a safe and organized workplace.
- Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues to meet customer priorities while remaining flexible to changing operational requirements.
- Identify quality concerns or equipment issues and communicate findings to the appropriate technical personnel.
- Participate in product, quality, and safety training while continuously developing technical competence.
- Assist with general workshop activities including preparation, cleaning, loading, and unloading of equipment where required.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and product quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications
Education
- Secondary education or equivalent.
Experience
- Previous experience in a mechanical workshop, maintenance, or service technician role.
- Experience assembling, servicing, or repairing mechanical equipment.
- Experience working within quality and safety procedures.
Technical Skills
- Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical procedures and follow detailed work instructions.
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to use measuring equipment accurately.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications
- Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or a related discipline.
- Experience servicing Downhole drilling, fishing, or oilfield equipment.
- Experience using workshop lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Familiarity with torque equipment and other specialist workshop tools.
- Experience working with ERP or workshop management systems.
- Knowledge of NOV service processes and applications is advantageous.
