Summary Of Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for the Customer Service Representative is to provide timely and professional customer service to Dakota Fluid Power customers while also supporting DFP Sales through effective communication and excellent organization and time management skills.

Job Duties Include

  • Responsible for assisting phone and walk-in customers, including inspection of worn or damaged/defective parts, determine replacement parts, troubleshoot and research products and prices to best fit application. Answer all customer inquiries quickly and accurately in a positive manner.
  • Assist service customers, determine needs, and work closely with service department to facilitate seamless prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Internal know-how; demonstrate broad understanding of DFP’s customer service functions, processes and tools and their impact on other DFP departments.
  • Ability to generate quotes, process and enter orders, contact vendors, update records and track orders as necessary, process returns, navigate ERP (P21) system to interpret pricing structure and utilize support system. Interpret and ensure proper execution of standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Manufacture hose assemblies, tubing, and other assemblies as needed.
  • Support Account Managers and respond in a timely manner with price, availability, product specifications, order status and other information as required.
  • Achieve productivity and sales goals.
  • Multitask on multiple projects at once.
  • Maintain clean organized work stations and showroom; replenish stock product as needed.
  • Assist with mentoring and training of new hires in the same department.
  • Attend product training and seminars if available.
  • Possibly work Saturdays as part of a rotation schedule.
  • Work with all departments to create a friendly, inviting and positive team environment.
  • Other duties assigned by Management.
