Position Overview
The Service Technician Trainee will be trained to work on complex electro-mechanical systems built in the USA to produce credit card sized cards that involve embossing, full colour graphics, magnetic encoding, smart card and other state of the art techniques. This position will also have administration responsibilities to ensure the regional team can deliver services to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Electro-Mechanical Depot Maintenance – 50%
- Perform the repair of printers to electronic board level to support depot return contracts for customer owned products.
- Deliver high quality emergency maintenance services on Entrust produced equipment.
- Assist with the refurbishment of Entrust products to support the Certified Pre-owned Equipment sales.
- Support other functions and responsibilities within the Entrust service organisation.
- Diagnose and understand equipment problems.
- Work with a high degree of autonomy with the ability to test, diagnose and resolve issues.
- Maintain failure data records.
- Communicate technical issues to engineering, manufacturing, quality and other groups.

Learning and Development Key Activities – 10%
- Participate in company sponsored personal development and quality initiative trainings.
- Complete product training on Entrust equipment.

Administration activities – 40%
- Process parts ordering and shipment documentation.
- Process loan equipment documentation and track the equipment until returned.
- Process customs documentation.
- Perform bi-yearly stock audits.
Basic Qualifications
- Proficient problem solving and troubleshooting after training.
- Demonstrated ability to read and follow assembly drawings, schematics, bill of materials and follow processes.
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, assignments.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail when processing formal documents.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of electromechanical technician experience.
- Associates degree in Electronics.
- Additional electromechanical technician experience.
- Skilled with tools and electronic test equipment.
