£75,000 basic – flexibility for the right person

The Opportunity
Axira Partners is supporting a global Medical Device organisation with the recruitment of a Service Tender Excellence Manager.
This is a highly visible, standalone specialist position responsible for leading and improving tender excellence across the business. The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end tender lifecycle, working closely with NHS Partnership, commercial, clinical and operational teams to develop high-quality, competitive submissions.
We are looking for someone who genuinely understands how NHS tenders are won.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of NHS tenders, from initial opportunity through to submission and go-live
- Manage and provide oversight of the tender pipeline
- Develop high-quality, persuasive and commercially competitive tender submissions
- Understand and interpret NHS procurement processes, frameworks and evaluation criteria
- Analyse tender scoring requirements and ensure responses are structured to maximise potential scores
- Develop clear win themes, value propositions and tender strategies
- Translate complex clinical, commercial and operational information into compelling written responses
- Coordinate input from multiple internal stakeholders and ensure deadlines are achieved
- Work closely with the NHS Partnership team on upcoming opportunities
- Ensure submissions meet all governance, compliance and quality requirements
- Continuously improve tender processes, tools and best practice across the organisation

What We're Looking For
You do not necessarily need to be a Tender Manager or Bid Manager currently.
We are interested in speaking with experienced professionals from the MedTech / Medical Device industry who have had significant exposure to NHS tenders and procurement.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
- Market Access Manager
- Healthcare Development Manager
- Healthcare Partnership Manager
- NHS Partnership Manager
- Regional Sales Manager
- Commercial Manager
- Tender / Bid Manager
You may have been responsible for contributing to or leading tenders as part of a broader commercial or market access position and now want to specialise further in this area.

Essential Experience:
- Strong experience within MedTech / Medical Devices
- Proven involvement in NHS bids and tenders
- Strong understanding of NHS procurement and public-sector frameworks
- Knowledge of tender evaluation and scoring criteria
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to develop compelling submissions
- Strong stakeholder and project management skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to understand what differentiates a winning proposition
- Comfortable taking ownership of a standalone specialist function
Location The successful candidate will ideally be based in London or the South East. This is a UK wide position, and regular travel across the UK will form part of the role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has been heavily involved in NHS tenders within Medical Devices and wants to take full ownership of the tender process within a major global organisation.
