Job Description:

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity as a Service Tendering Engineer within our Service Team based in Staffordshire. You'll support the local GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Service Tendering Manager in determining the most appropriate and cost-effective solution and assist with the preparation of tender documents, contributing and driving the overall growth of the Hitachi Energy volume by increasing our existing customer portfolio as well as creating new business opportunities.

In this key role, you will integrate into the wider Service Sales Team and other Hitachi Energy business areas developing cross business opportunities. Engaging with our key customers about their expectations of service and products. Being responsive to customer requests, you'll provide clear, precise quotations to a high-quality specification and whilst growing and retain key customer relationships.

How you'll make an impact

  • Prepare/support preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements.
  • Analyse project requirements with key stakeholders, check that all essential work activities have been identified and produce a realistic project schedule.
  • Bid Tracking & Reporting, Update bid status using internal tools such as Salesforce
  • Win/Loss Analysis, have an understanding of why tenders succeed or fail.
  • Feed lessons back into future bids
  • Understand Customer Service principles and their effect on the business
  • Operate with a high level of customer engagement
  • Task scheduling to maintain customer timelines to achieve customer satisfaction in our service and products

Your background:

  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written and fluent in the English language
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • UK Driving License required
  • Proven excellent customer focus
  • A background in the power sector
  • Knowledge of Hitachi Energy Product Portfolio desired
