Service Transition Manager
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Hybrid (London)
Rate: £450 – £480 per day DOE
Status: OUTSIDE IR35
Clearance: Eligible for SC Clearance
Start Date: ASAP
Summary:
My market leading client are looking to secure the services of a contract-based Service Transition Manager to assist with critical project work centralised around public sector services. Previous experience working in Public Sector with GDS is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transition of new and changed services into live operational support
- Conduct service discovery, readiness assessments and service acceptance activities
- Develop service design documentation, support models and operational processes
- Coordinate governance, change, release and go-live activities
- Manage knowledge transfer, operational handovers and support documentation
- Identify and manage transition risks, issues, dependencies and service readiness gaps
- Facilitate Early Life Support and ensure a smooth transition into BAU operations
- Drive continual service improvement through performance monitoring, feedback and lessons learned

Essential Experience
- Proven experience delivering service transitions within IT or digital environments
- Strong understanding of ITIL and Service Management principles
- Experience supporting go-live, service acceptance and operational readiness activities
- Ability to define support models, processes and service documentation
- Experience managing stakeholders across technical, business and operational teams
- Strong governance, risk and dependency management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
