Service Transition Manager / Release Manager (ITIL V3/V4 - EUC / ServiceNow)
£450pd Inside IR35 - Fully Remote.
Transition Manager required to Lead the transition of Corporate IT services from project delivery into operational service by coordinating release readiness, operational acceptance, governance approvals and deployment preparedness.
The Transition Manager owns the integrated readiness picture across all workstreams and ensures the programme can demonstrate that services are ready to be deployed, supported, operated and governed successfully. The role coordinates readiness activities but does not replace individual workstream accountability for delivery, operational preparation or assurance evidence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Readiness Management
- Define and maintain the Operational Readiness framework.
- Establish readiness criteria and acceptance requirements.
- Coordinate readiness activities across all workstreams.
- Ensure readiness evidence is collected, reviewed and maintained.
Release Planning & Coordination
- Maintain the integrated release and deployment plan.
- Coordinate release scope, dependencies and sequencing.
- Manage cross-workstream release impacts.
- Ensure deployment and rollback arrangements are defined.

Acceptance Into Service
- Coordinate acceptance into service processes.
- Ensure support teams, service teams and resolver groups are prepared.
- Confirm operational procedures and support arrangements are in place.
- Verify monitoring, reporting and service management readiness.
Governance & Decision Support
- Coordinate go/no-go processes.
- Produce release readiness papers and governance submissions.
- Consolidate assurance positions from all workstreams.
- Present readiness recommendations and residual risks.
Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement
- Engage delivery teams, suppliers and operational stakeholders.
- Coordinate Service Management, Security and Information Governance inputs.
- Ensure business readiness activities are completed.
- Manage readiness actions and decision logs.

Change & Deployment Governance
- Coordinate transition through operational change processes.
- Support CAB approval activities.
- Ensure release controls are followed.
- Coordinate implementation readiness reviews.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience of IT Service Transition or Release Management.
- Experience delivering Operational Readiness activities.
- Experience managing complex multi-supplier releases.
- Strong understanding of Acceptance into Service and Service Management disciplines.
- Experience producing governance and board-level materials.
- Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills.
Desirable Experience
- ITIL Service Transition or ITIL v3/v4 qualification.
- Experience involving M365, ServiceNow, Tenancy & Identity, End User Computing or Enterprise Services.
- Experience supporting Day-1 readiness activities and organisational integration programmes.
