Job Title: Senior ServiceNow IT Asset Management (HAM Pro) Consultant
Location: Coventry, UK (Hybrid working)
Day Rate: £400 - £450 (Inside IR35)
Start Date: Immediate start
Job Type: Contract position
We are looking for an experienced Senior ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) Consultant with deep expertise in ServiceNow HAM Pro, SAM Pro and CMDB to lead the development and maturity of enterprise IT Asset Management capabilities.
This role is ideal for someone who has successfully delivered ServiceNow ITAM implementations, improved CMDB maturity, established governance frameworks and driven measurable operational and financial improvements across complex enterprise environments.
You will work closely with IT, Service Management, Infrastructure and Technology leadership to ensure software and hardware assets are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle while maintaining accurate configuration data and supporting strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Lead the design, implementation and continual improvement of ServiceNow IT Asset Management capabilities.
- Configure and optimise ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management Professional (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro).
- Develop CMDB capabilities, ensuring alignment with CSDM and ITIL best practice.
- Establish and maintain ITAM and SACM governance frameworks, policies and operating procedures.
- Improve asset data quality through Discovery, integrations and ongoing data governance.
- Manage the full hardware asset lifecycle including procurement, deployment, inventory management, refresh and disposal.
- Lead software licence management, compliance activities, vendor audits and optimisation initiatives.
- Produce reporting and dashboards to provide visibility of asset performance, compliance, risk and financial metrics.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to embed best practice across the organisation.
- Drive continual service improvement and identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow IT Asset Management.
- Hardware Asset Management Professional (HAM Pro)
- Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro)
- CMDB
- Discovery
- ITOM
- CSDM
- Proven experience delivering enterprise ITAM and CMDB implementations.
- Strong understanding of IT Asset Management and Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) principles.
- Experience developing governance frameworks, operating models and ITAM processes.
- Demonstrable experience improving CMDB data quality and maturity.
- Experience managing software licensing, vendor compliance and audit activities.
- Knowledge of hardware lifecycle management and enterprise asset management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
- ServiceNow integrations with third-party discovery and asset management tools.
- Experience leading ITAM transformation or CMDB maturity programmes.
- Knowledge of Service Catalogue and Service Mapping.
- Experience supporting financial planning, budgeting and cost optimisation through effective asset management.
- Previous experience mentoring teams or leading ITAM functions.
Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ITIL Foundation (ITIL 4 preferred)
- ServiceNow ITAM, HAM Pro or SAM Pro certifications (highly desirable)
- Additional ServiceNow certifications would be advantageous
