Job Summary
Working within the Darley Dale site team, this role will be responsible for managing the sourcing of site consumables, services and capital spend (Indirect Spend – Approx. £5 Million), and ensuring the effectiveness of the on-site, 3rd party managed Stores. The role will also manage other 3rd party contracts and secure new ones as required.
Key Objectives of the Role
- Always maintain and practice a high standard of Health and Safety.
- Leverage, consolidate and target site spend to assist Forged Solutions Group in the delivery of spend reduction targets. Areas of spend include but are not limited to Leasing, Soft Services, Oils, MRO Spares, Carbide Inserts / Tooling, FLT’s, Vehicles and Capital Investment.
- Work in collaboration with Suppliers & Other Departments to deliver Productivity & Efficiency Savings.
- Manage one direct report – Purchasing support / Buyer.
- Effectively source, manage and liaise with suppliers to ensure site needs are met.
- Manage and contribute to group procurement projects through formal Request for Proposal (RFP) procedures, including the opportunity to lead on agreed category reviews.
- Raisin Requisitions for certain areas of spend.
- Sourcing quotes for goods and services.
- Updating & maintaining supplier contracts within the management system.
- Delivery of spend reduction, cost avoidance and working capital savings.
- Implementation of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to ensure high performance from Suppliers.
- Liaise closely with Suppliers, Maintenance, Finance and Operations.
- Attend quarterly Group quarterly procurement reviews and lead on projects for certain spend categories reporting to the Group COO.
- Invoice resolution in the event of disputes and discrepancies.
- The use of information reporting tools to manipulate and present data relating to key performance metrics.

The Applicant
- Ideally educated to a degree level in any discipline.
- MCIPS – Qualified or working towards.
- Experienced in the use of ERP systems.
- Knowledge of MRO storeroom management & basic MRP controls.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Must have indirect procurement experience.
- Able to work to tight deadlines maintaining attention to detail.
- Computer literate. Advanced MS Excel.
- Ability to prioritise workload and focus on key issues.
- Work on own initiative.
- Strong negotiator.
