At Pets at Home, we're transforming how we deliver care to pets and their owners through smart, scalable technology. As a Services Developer, you'll play a key role in building the service and API layer that underpins our digital ecosystem, working in Agile teams to design, develop and deliver high-quality solutions that make a real difference.

The role offers hybrid working from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing & building robust services and APIs to solve business challenges
  • Creating reusable components to accelerate future development
  • Developing and maintaining automated unit and integration tests (TDD where possible)
  • Collaborating with Product Owners and Stakeholders to shape and prioritise features
  • Contributing across the full Agile lifecycle, from backlog refinement to demos and retrospectives
  • Working with internal teams and third-party partners to deliver seamless solutions
  • Maintaining clear, effective technical documentation

What you'll bring:

  • Strong experience with .NET /.NET Core and C#
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
  • Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture and API design
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • A customer-first mindset with a focus on outcomes
  • Confidence engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience with TDD, CI/CD and Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases
