Shifts: Average of 42 hours (12 hour shifts 6am-6pm)
Are you a hands-on engineer with a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving? Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a Services Engineer to join the team at our Navenby Feed Mill, helping to ensure our operations run safely, efficiently, and reliably.
About The Role
As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of mill equipment, ensuring high standards of safety, performance, and reliability are maintained across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mill equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose faults and resolve mechanical and electrical issues effectively.
- Support Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes to minimise downtime.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, fault logs, and repair documentation.
- Monitor and manage spare parts and consumable stock levels.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company health and safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Support stock control activities, including labelling, rotation, and record keeping.
- Provide operational support and cover for Mill Operatives when required.
- Report hazards, near misses, and health & safety concerns promptly.

Essential
- Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a mill, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work shifts and occasional overtime when required.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable
- Engineering, maintenance, or related technical qualification.
- Experience in welding and fabrication.
- Forklift operation experience or certification.
