Our client, a leader in radiation safety, measurement, and science, is currently seeking a Services Site Engineer to join their team in Forss, near Dounreay on a permanent basis. This role is part of their Technologies Division and will be responsible for providing service support to the Dounreay site in Scotland. The position will involve travel to various sites within the UK and occasionally overseas, but will predominantly be based on the Dounreay site in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and support of specialist and bespoke waste assay systems
  • Inspection, calibration, testing, and repair of nuclear-related monitoring and detection instrumentation
  • Field service, technical support, and troubleshooting to support customers
  • Liaison with customers' project teams to ensure smooth installation of equipment, including locations, cable routing, and integration into site systems

Job Requirements

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship and a minimum HNC in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience or qualification)
  • Knowledge of radiation measurement instruments and gamma spectroscopy (training provided if needed)
  • Familiarity with working on nuclear licensed sites such as Dounreay, Sellafield, EDF, or NRS (preferred)
  • Strong initiative, motivation, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
  • Eligibility for UK security clearance (British or EU passport holder)
  • High level of English proficiency
