We’re looking for enthusiastic, caring and adaptable Sessional Playworkers to join our team in Bracknell.
As a Sessional Playworker, you’ll support disabled children and young people to take part in a range of fun, meaningful and inclusive recreational activities. This could include creative and imaginative play, indoor and outdoor activities, or trips out into the local community to places such as parks, cinemas, bowling alleys and zoos.
You’ll work as part of a supportive team to make sure every child and young person has a safe, positive and enjoyable experience.
Location: The Courthouse, Broadway, Bracknell, RG12 1AE
Contract: Sessional
Salary: £13.28 per hour / £14.88 per hour including holiday pay
Hours: This is a sessional role with no guaranteed hours. Shifts may be offered on Saturdays during term time, Monday to Friday during school holidays, and on Sundays throughout the year. You can indicate your availability and accept shifts that suit you; however, regular availability across some of these periods is required.
What You'll Be Doing
Your role will include:
- Supporting children and young people to take part in creative, imaginative and adventurous play
- Adapting activities to meet individual needs and preferences
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interaction
- Accompanying and supervising children and young people on community outings
- Providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment
- Providing personal care sensitively and respectfully where required
- Supporting with snacks and meals when needed
- Following safeguarding, health and safety procedures
- Working closely with colleagues, families, carers and other professionals
