Sessional Youth Worker - SEND

Ref: 001661

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £4,850 per annum (JNC)

Hours: 6 per week

Location: Various locations around the borough to meet the needs of the service

Role Overview

Join Oldham Council's Youth Work Team!

Are you passionate and ready to make a real impact in young people's lives across Oldham's communities?

Oldham Council's Youth Service is seeking a dynamic person to join our team. This pivotal role involves developing and delivering high-quality, engaging SEND youth work out in the community. You will be instrumental in fostering the holistic development of young people with additional needs, empowering their voices, and guiding them towards positive choices and their full potential. If you are committed to inclusive service for young people and driving positive change, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality youth work in communities across Oldham, aiming to meet the identified needs of young people with SEND.
  • Be involved with the planning and delivery of high-quality youth work for young people in a variety of settings, using a variety of youth work methods.
  • Support young people with SEND, in the planning and delivery of projects that will challenge, stimulate and provide new learning opportunities.
  • Work evenings and weekends including Friday and Saturday evenings.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have experience of working with young people aged 8-25 years with SEND.
  • Have the ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with young people.
  • Be prepared to work evenings and weekends as required.
