Youth Worker – Next Move
We’re looking for compassionate, reliable, self-employed youth workers to join our Next Move team, delivering community outreach and wellbeing Hangouts for young people aged 11–18 in Arnold, Netherfield, and Burton Joyce.
Help young people feel heard, find their people, and take their next move. We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable youth worker who can build trusted relationships with young people and help create spaces where they feel safe, valued, and able to be themselves.
Next Move supports young people aged 11–18 through community outreach, wellbeing Hangouts, positive activities, and opportunities for volunteering and youth leadership.
Our work puts young people’s voices at the heart of what we do, supporting wellbeing, confidence, and belonging.
Your Role
Your role will include:
- Delivering welcoming, engaging youth sessions and detached outreach.
- Building relationships with young people, including those who may find it difficult to engage with support.
- Listening without judgment and supporting young people with everyday challenges.
- Helping young people shape activities, influence decisions, and develop their ideas.
- Encouraging confidence, positive choices, and healthy relationships.
- Working alongside our team and partners to connect young people with further support when needed.
- Following safeguarding procedures and keeping clear session and progress records.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience working with young people in youth work, community, or a related setting.
- Brings warmth, patience, and a calm, consistent approach.
- Understands safeguarding, professional boundaries, and how to respond to concerns.
- Can support young people with different needs, including anxiety, SEND, and neurodivergence.
- Is comfortable working in community venues and outdoor outreach settings.
- Works well within a team and can reliably attend evening sessions.

A youth work qualification, experience of detached outreach, and current first aid training would be welcomed.
You’ll join a caring team that values compassion, inclusion, and young people’s potential. Your contribution will help young people build trusted connections, discover their strengths, and take steps towards a more positive future.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and an appropriate enhanced DBS check.
