Senior Oversight Settlement Manager
Location: London, UK (and oversight of Pune, India team) Company: FIS

About the Role
The Senior Oversight Settlement Manager will provide Operational Oversight Management for the day-to-day running of operational teams supporting Platform Securities, including:
- Custody Team UK
- Settlements
- Error Repair Team
- Account Opening/Due Diligence
Key Responsibilities
This role ensures activity is managed effectively, risks are controlled, responsibilities are clear, and service delivery meets agreed standards. Key duties include:
- Acting as a leadership figure, providing direction, support, and technical oversight to the teams.
- Supporting senior management with:
- Client servicing
- Operational governance
- Continuous improvement
- Audit readiness
- Maintaining strong operational control across listed teams, including oversight of the Pune, India location, ensuring:
- Clear ownership, roles, and responsibilities
- Consistent adherence to procedures
- Team capability development via coaching and training
- Taking a proactive approach to:
- Risk identification
- Process improvement
- Issue escalation and resolution
Leadership & Accountability
- Provide strong leadership to team members across UK and Pune, India:
- Coaching performance & quality assurance
- Competence & training oversight
- Collaborate with other team leaders to:
- Share best practices
- Support cross-location delivery
- Maintain consistent operational standards

Key Oversight Responsibilities
- Settlement lifecycle oversight – control, monitor, and ensure progress aligns with service standards.
- Operational oversight – guarantee accountability, effective controls, and escalation routes for teams.
- Pune team coordination – maintain standards and escalation processes for India operations.
- Ownership & accountability – Document team roles, responsibilities, decision points, and escalation protocols.
- Cross-functional coordination – Manage dependencies and issues between custody, settlements, error repair, and account opening teams.
- Training & capability development:
- Coach teams on settlement processes, controls, risk indicators, and compliance.
- Ensure competence evidence for audit readiness, performance tracking, and succession planning.
- Exception management – Investigate, document, and remediate aged items, breaks, and escalations.
- Documentation updates – Regularly review and refine settlement procedures.
- Compliance & audit readiness – Maintain strong first line of defense control while ensuring adherence to:
- FCA rules
- Regulatory & client requirements
- Team performance oversight – Track remediation actions, operational risks, and ensure client-focused culture.
What You’ll Bring
Experience
-
Extensive experience in settlements operations, including:
- Oversight of settlement processes
- Exception management & aged items handling
- Controls, reconciliations, and escalation management
- Measuring and achieving SLA targets

Strong UK and US settlement market knowledge, covering:
- Settlement cycles, cut-off times, custody chains, and operational risks

Multi-custodian experience including:
- Managing queries
- Direct fund dealing and settlement requirements
