Sewing Machinist
Handy with an industrial sewing machine and looking for a great daytime shift? 🧵
📍 Location: Liversedge, WF15 6JF
💷 Pay: £13 per hour +
⏰ Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
🚀 Immediate start available
We’re recruiting for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join a busy manufacturer in Liversedge, producing high-quality covers for furniture.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Sewing Machinist who enjoys hands-on work, takes real pride in the finished product and is looking for convenient daytime hours with no weekend working.
⏰ Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 2:00pm
- 30 hours per week
✅ Must Haves
- Previous sewing machine experience
- Experience using industrial sewing machines
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to produce work to a consistently high standard
- Reliable and comfortable working within a production environment

Key Responsibilities
As a Sewing Machinist, you’ll be involved in producing covers for furniture, ensuring each item is completed accurately and to the required quality standards.
Your Duties Will Include:
- 🧵 Operating industrial sewing machines
- 🧵 Sewing and assembling furniture covers
- 🧵 Working accurately with different materials and components
- 🧵 Following job requirements and production instructions
- 🧵 Checking completed work for quality and finish
- 🧵 Identifying and reporting any quality issues
- 🧵 Keeping your workstation clean, tidy and organised
- 🧵 Working alongside the wider production team to keep orders moving
Essential Qualifications / Skills
Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist or using industrial sewing machines is required.
Experience sewing furniture covers, upholstery products or similar manufactured textile products would be particularly relevant.
