Sewing Machinist
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: Up to £31,000 DOE
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join a global leader in aerospace component manufacturing. Working within a specialist production environment, you will be responsible for overlocking and sewing pre-cut materials into high-quality finished covers used within the aerospace industry.
This role would suit candidates with previous industrial sewing machine experience who take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Duties
- Sew pre-cut components using drawings, templates, work instructions and samples
- Overlock cut parts in line with specifications and training provided
- Carry out rework and repairs where required
- Maintain sewing machines and overlockers, ensuring equipment is clean, oiled and operating correctly
- Report machine faults to the Team Leader
- Follow manufacturing procedures to maintain quality and traceability standards
- Support other production activities as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience operating an industrial sewing machine is essential
- Overlocking experience is desirable
- Good understanding of product assembly techniques
- Ability to follow technical drawings, instructions and templates
- Basic English communication skills and GCSE-level education (or equivalent)
