SFIA 5 Senior Product Manager
Remote working with occasional travel to Sheffield, Manchester, Blackpool & Newcastle
Up to £500 per day – Inside IR35
Active SC Clearance required
We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to support a major UK Government department delivering critical digital products and services at scale.
This is a senior leadership role for a highly capable Product Manager who can operate across complex stakeholder environments, set product direction, and drive successful delivery through multidisciplinary teams. You'll work across both Agile and Waterfall environments, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on product leadership to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate product vision, strategy and roadmap aligned to business objectives.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of complex digital products and services.
- Manage and prioritise product backlogs to maximise value and user outcomes.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across business and technical functions to align priorities and delivery goals.
- Translate technical requirements into clear business-focused communication for a range of audiences.
- Drive product discovery, continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies and delivery challenges.
- Work collaboratively with delivery managers, architects, engineers, analysts and user researchers.
- Champion user-centred design principles and best practice product management techniques.
- Ensure product decisions balance user needs, business priorities and technical constraints.

We're Looking for Someone With:
- Significant Product Management experience within large-scale digital or technology environments.
- Extensive experience delivering products through both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong experience operating within UK Government or wider Public Sector programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps and prioritised backlogs.
- Strong decision-making skills in complex and fast-moving environments.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving delivery outcomes.
- A solid understanding of digital service delivery and user-centred design principles.
- Active SC Clearance.

Desirable Experience:
- Experience working on large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of GDS standards and Government digital delivery practices.
