Job Description:
The Senior Officer – AI Innovation (Health) will work at the intersection of healthcare, artificial intelligence, and innovation. The role focuses on identifying emerging AI technologies that can improve healthcare delivery in India, rapidly testing promising ideas through proof-of-concept projects, and evaluating their clinical impact before scaling.
The selected candidate will collaborate with clinicians, researchers, government ministries, startups, academic institutions, and internal Foundation teams to develop AI solutions in areas such as diagnostics, medical imaging, maternal and child health, connected care, and clinical decision support systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify emerging AI technologies relevant to India’s healthcare priorities.
- Evaluate innovative AI solutions for diagnostics, imaging, nutrition, and connected care.
- Design and execute rapid proof-of-concept pilots for healthcare AI applications.
- Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, startups, IITs, IISc, AIIMS, and government agencies.
- Develop pilot plans, concept notes, and innovation roadmaps.
- Build partnerships across academia, industry, and the healthcare ecosystem.
- Evaluate AI models for clinical accuracy, safety, bias, and feasibility.
- Generate evidence and documentation for successful AI prototypes.
- Recommend promising innovations for large-scale implementation.
- Support smooth transition of validated projects to implementation teams.

Candidates Should Possess:
Eligibility Criteria for this Health Innovation Job:
- MBBS, MD, or an equivalent clinical/biomedical degree.
- Additional training or experience in Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, AI, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience working at the intersection of healthcare and Artificial Intelligence.
- Exposure to clinical workflows, diagnostics, or healthcare delivery in low-resource settings.
- Experience evaluating AI-based healthcare technologies.
- Strong academic or applied research background.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
