SharePoint Consultant
Robert Half Technology are assisting an established publishing business to recruit a SharePoint Consultant on a contract basis. Hybrid working - London based, with 2 days per week on site. ASAP start. Minimum 3-month contract.
Role:
The SharePoint Consultant will support the planning and delivery of large-scale migrations from Classic SharePoint to Modern SharePoint Online, ensuring minimal disruption and strong user outcomes.
- Deliver content migrations using ShareGate and the Microsoft Migration Tool, including pre-stage migrations, delta migrations and cutover activities.
- Work closely with stakeholders and technical teams to understand business requirements and ensure content, site structures, permissions and information architecture are effectively migrated.
- Review and optimise SharePoint site architecture, navigation, metadata, document libraries and information architecture to improve usability and long-term governance.
- Assess existing SharePoint Alerts and legacy processes, recommending and implementing Power Automate solutions where appropriate.
- Configure and optimise SharePoint Online sites to ensure they are user-friendly, accessible and aligned with organisational standards.
- Identify and resolve migration challenges, risks and technical issues, ensuring timely delivery of migration milestones.
- Collaborate with Technology teams to ensure alignment with security, compliance and governance requirements.
- Develop migration documentation, technical standards and repeatable approaches to support scalable delivery.
- Support user adoption by providing guidance, knowledge transfer and practical recommendations to improve the end-user experience.
- Support the adoption of Microsoft Copilot, SharePoint Agents and other Microsoft 365 AI capabilities by ensuring Modern SharePoint environments are optimised for future AI-enabled experiences.
- Develop and execute PowerShell scripts where appropriate to automate migration, reporting and bulk administration activities.
- Produce technical support documentation, knowledge articles and migration guidance for Site Owners and end users.
- Work collaboratively within a project environment, contributing to delivery plans, progress tracking and continuous improvement of migration processes.

Profile:
The SharePoint Consultant will have:
- Proven experience delivering SharePoint Online migrations from Classic to Modern SharePoint environments.
- Strong SharePoint Online administration experience, with a detailed understanding of SharePoint architecture, permissions models and information management principles.
- Proven experience using ShareGate and the Microsoft Migration Tool to deliver complex content migrations.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint Online and Power Automate.
- Experience troubleshooting complex migration issues and resolving technical challenges effectively.
- Experience assessing and replacing legacy SharePoint Alerts and workflows using Power Automate.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for migration, reporting and bulk administration activities is highly desirable.
- Experience with SharePoint Agents and Microsoft Copilot is highly desirable.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power BI, Microsoft Purview, JIRA Service Management or Agile delivery would be advantageous.
