SHE Advisor
Shetlands, Scotland, UK
10/4 Rotation.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious SHE Advisor to join our team, supporting the delivery of the Mossy Hill Substation Project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project, contributing to the safe construction of an £80m development from early works through to full construction delivery.
As a SHE Advisor, you will work closely with the project, and SHE teams to promote and maintain the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental performance on site. This is a hands-on role, providing practical support and guidance to ensure all activities are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with project objectives.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety, health, and environmental standards across the project.
- Provide initiative-taking, hands-on SHE supports to site teams and subcontractors.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage workforce engagement in SHE initiatives.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and observations, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Support incident investigations and the development of preventative measures.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, client requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Assist with the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements and other SHE documentation.
- Deliver SHE briefings, toolbox talks and awareness sessions as required.
- Build effective working relationships with project teams and stakeholders to ensure SHE objectives are achieved.
- Report on SHE performance and support the achievement of project safety targets.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety certification.
- Experience working as a Safety Advisor within the construction industry.
- Experience supporting the safe delivery of construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice.
- Ability to influence and engage colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Initiative-taking and practical approach to health, safety, and environmental management.
- Experience working on similar construction or infrastructure schemes is desirable.
- Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring everyone goes home safely every day.

About The Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
