To build our team we are looking for a SHE Manager to join our team, responsible for our 2 UK based food manufacturing sites and our Innovation Centre.
Your Mission

You will drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental strategies, creating workplaces where serious injuries and accidents are prevented, risks are proactively managed, and a true Culture of Caring thrives.
Working across multiple manufacturing sites, varied operational environments, and a remote sales team, you'll partner with leaders and colleagues at every level to embed safety and well-being into everything we do. Combining strategic vision with hands-on leadership, you'll help shape the future of our business while empowering others to make a positive difference.
You'll also play a pivotal role in advancing Puratos' ambitious sustainability agenda. As we work towards Net Zero emissions across our value chain, Carbon Neutral operations, Water Balance, and Zero Waste to Landfill by 2030, you'll have the opportunity to innovate, influence, and lead environmental initiatives that create a lasting impact for generations to come.

What You Will Do
- Lead the SHE agenda across our three UK locations in Buckingham, Fringford and Bicknor, acting as the trusted expert and visible champion for safe, healthy and sustainable ways of working.
- Shape, implement and continuously improve robust Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and risk management systems, aligned to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, while keeping pace with Group standards, business priorities, UK legislation and HSE guidance.
- Bring SHE to life across the business by embedding practical policies, strong governance, visible leadership and proactive compliance monitoring, using dashboards, audits and insight to spot trends, reduce risk and drive a true Safety First culture.
- Turn data into action by managing SHE records, statistics and reporting, identifying patterns, benchmarking performance and recommending improvement plans through effective inspections, audits and Group-level updates.
- Inspire and develop colleagues through engaging SHE education, communication and engagement programmes that build awareness of best practice, legal responsibilities, safe behaviours, wellbeing, work-related stress prevention and our Culture of Caring.
- Provide confident, credible technical guidance to senior leaders on safety-related matters, helping them make informed decisions and lead by example.
- Act as a key SHE partner for new projects and installations, ensuring safety, environmental impact and compliance are considered from concept through to delivery.
- Represent Puratos professionally with regulatory bodies, government officials, insurers, auditors and external stakeholders across environment, health, safety and workplace welfare matters.
- Define and lead long-range plans to improve environmental performance, including energy and water efficiency, while building strong internal and external networks of specialist expertise.
- Anticipate and lead the response to emerging SHE risks, from psychosocial risk, work-related stress and occupational health exposure to hazardous substances, machinery safety, contractor control, workplace transport, lone working, emergency response, severe weather and legislative change.
What We Expect From You
- NEBOSH certificate/diploma
- Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, e.g. ISO 14001, ISO5001 and ISO45001
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organisation as well as organizations outside (regulatory agencies)
- Having a Bachelor or Master, a specialisation in HSE is desirable
- Minimum 5 years of experience as HSE responsible in an industrial environment
- Have a clear passion for HSE and sustainability
- Driving license and ability to travel 2-3 days a week as required across Buckingham, Bicknor and Fringford
- Resilient and good observer
- Be open to flexible working hours
