Sheltered Housing Officer x2

Job Summary:

Ealing Council have an exciting new opportunity for a Sheltered Housing Officer available on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm 35 Hours per week) in our Sheltered Housing Service.

Are you an experienced housing professional with a desire to help and support vulnerable and elderly tenants or are you currently working in a non-housing role, but have transferrable skills that you think would be beneficial to the Sheltered Housing service?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Whilst experience of working with older people/vulnerable adults is always beneficial, it is not an explicit requirement for the post.

In line with LB Ealing ethos of allowing staff to develop their careers, we in the Sheltered Team are looking for staff members who have worked with a diverse clientele who are passionate in delivering a quality service and who embrace change.

The person should be able to demonstrate that they have transferable skills (or are willing to learn these on the job) and most importantly can deliver a service compassionately, putting the needs of the tenants first whilst respecting professional boundaries (promoting independence and not dependence).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
