M Group Highways have a vacancy for an Area Highways and Streetworks Inspector - Location Peterborough
What you'll be doing
- Undertake highway condition safety inspections in accordance with, Peterborough City Council, Highway Maintenance Plan within monthly assigned period. Driven and walked Inspections.
- Identify and issue accurate works order to instruct effective defect repairs and carry out risk assessment of site and identify hazards.
- Inspect works carried out by Utility Companies, in accordance with New Roads and Street Works Act regulations and Enforce the Authority’s obligations under the Traffic Management Act with regards to Street Works issues
- Manage individual highways budget allocation to meet PCC spend requirements.
- Ensure all variations to work are agreed with operational teams and signed off.
- Manage enquires and complaints from members of the public, Members and Senior officers on all Highway related matters.
- Provide reports and information regarding Third Party insurance claims.
- Participate in Out of hours and Winter Duty Officer Duties.
- Liaise with Neighbourhoods, Parish Councils, Residents/Community Groups, Utilities and the public to foster a greater understanding of the Councils work, explaining and dealing with complex matters
