SHEQ Advisor

We’re looking for a proactive SHEQ Advisors to champion safety, health, wellbeing, environmental responsibility and quality across our operations. You’ll support teams with expert guidance, develop clear, compliant documentation, conduct site inspections and audits, lead incident investigations and help drive a culture of continuous improvement.

In this role, you’ll guide operational teams on SHEQ procedures, deliver briefings and training, monitor site compliance and ensure work meets legal and company standards. You’ll lead investigations, produce learning materials, carry out audits, support risk assessments and management plans, liaise with clients and regulators, and stay up to date with evolving SHEQ legislation. Above all, you’ll act as a visible role model for safe, responsible working.

Our expertise spans infrastructure, non-infrastructure, and maintenance services across the water and wastewater sectors. We deliver civil engineering works including pipelines, pumping stations and reservoirs; MEICA solutions covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation; and long-term maintenance programmes that support asset reliability and operational efficiency. What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring genuine passion for safety and wellbeing, strong communication skills and the confidence to influence teams at all levels. You’ll be comfortable working under pressure, able to travel across London and the Southeast, and confident engaging with diverse operational environments.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Passion for safety, health, wellbeing, environment and quality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Knowledge of SHEQ legislation and best practice
  • Willingness to travel to operational sites

Experience

Proven experience as a SHEQ Advisor in utilities or construction

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant degree
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Qualifications

  • Environmental qualification
  • IOSH membership (TechIOSH)
