Enable Resourcing are working with a leading utilities and civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support projects across London and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate safety professional looking to play a key role in promoting a positive Health, Safety, Environment and Quality culture across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and utility projects.
Working closely with operational teams, site management, clients and stakeholders, you will provide expert SHEQ guidance, conduct audits and inspections, lead investigations and drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple live projects.
The Role
As SHEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting project teams to ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality standards while promoting best practice throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing SHEQ advice and support to operational and site-based teams.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
- Producing reports, lessons learned and corrective action plans.
- Supporting the development of risk assessments, method statements and management plans.
- Delivering SHEQ briefings, toolbox talks and training sessions.
- Monitoring compliance with company procedures and industry legislation.
- Liaising with clients, regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Promoting a strong culture of safety, wellbeing, environmental responsibility and quality excellence.

Requirements
Candidates should possess:
- Previous experience as a SHEQ Advisor within the utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure or construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
- Knowledge of environmental and quality management systems.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience supporting operational teams across multiple project sites.
- Willingness to travel throughout London and the South East.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.

Qualifications
Essential
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Environmental qualification.
- TechIOSH or IOSH membership.
- Utilities, water or civil engineering sector experience.
- Lead Auditor qualification.
